"Memorial Bonsai Zokei"™
The concept of the "Memorial Bonsai Zokei" ™ came to me some months ago. While designing the jewelry that would come to be known as "Healing Memories Jewelry" ™, I saw a video on You Tube about making a gemstone tree.
I used to make genuine living Bonsai's and I loved them, except for how difficult they are to keep alive. After I made one tree, (a deciduous tree). I saw a video on making "Bonsai Zokei" or imitation bonsias.
Taking the concepts of a remembrance item like jewelry, I made an imitation bonsai with gemstone leaves and learned how to make the trunks and branches look more realistic.
I took the first couple of trees to work to show my co-workers and they all went 'crazy' over them. People immediately began to buy them from me.
One co-worked, whose mother had just passed away, made the comment that she would have loved a tree like that. He asked me to make a special bonsai zokei in honor of his mother.
He asked for the leaves to be made of amber since some believe amber has healing qualities and early Christians thought that amber represented the presence of the Lord.
